After graduating law school, Mike practiced law in New York City for three years and then returned to Richmond and was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1966.  For almost 40 years Mike practiced at Troutman Sanders, LLP and its predecessor firm Mays & Valentine, LLP where he was Chairman of the Trust Department for 15 years.

Mike’s practice focuses primarily on the administration of trusts and estates. He regularly advises individual family members on establishing and administering trusts. Additionally, Mike personally serves as trustee, executor and attorney-in-fact for many of his clients.
