Brandy J.F. Burnett

Of Counsel

Armstrong Bristow Farley & Schwarzschild PLC
1807 Libbie Avenue, Suite 200
Richmond, VA 23226

Brandy has been in the practice of law for more than 25 years, focusing on estate planning and estate and trust administration.  Being a certified public accountant in addition to a lawyer, she gravitated towards these areas because of the potential tax implications, both income tax and estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes, but quickly found her clients’ happiness at establishing an estate plan that reflects their goals or relief to have settled the affairs of a family member or friend to be immensely gratifying.

Brandy’s prior experience includes:

  • McGuireWoods LLP
  • Saunders, Cary & Patterson (now Saunders, Patterson & Mack)
  • University of Richmond School of Law, J.D. (1996)
  • Virginia Commonwealth University, B.S. in Accounting (1993)

Brandy is a founder and former Secretary of Henrico Humane Society, a former Treasurer of both CancerLINC (formerly Legal Information Network for Cancer (LINC)) and Neighborhood School of the Arts.  Brandy was the inaugural recipient of the Krista Latshaw Pro Bono Award presented by LINC.   Brandy also has been a Secretary and Treasurer, as well as other volunteer positions, for the parent-teacher associations of her children’s schools.  Brandy currently serves as Secretary of Community Tax Law Project and is a member of both the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Bar Association.
